EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)

EDI is a standardized way to perform data transferring between different computer systems and computer networks. It is most commonly used for e-commerce purposes, such as sending orders to warehouses, tracking shipments and invoices.

The full-form of EDI is ” Electronic Data Interchange .”

Since many online retailers sell their products and do not even have physical stock, it is important that there should be an easy way to send the transfer order information to the location where the goods (products) are stored.

EDI provides great help in this entire process. Some common EDI formats include X12 (US), TRADACOMS (UK), and EDIFACT (International).
